We grew up vacationing there almost every year. There is absolutely nothing like the white sands and emerald water. The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa hosted us and it was so perfect for our family getaway. It's only a little under a six-hour drive from Atlanta.
We stayed in the Emerald Tower and our room was suited perfectly for families. We had a King size bed with bunk beds down the hall for the boys. Cove was SO excited about the bunk beds and getting to sleep so close to Jettson. He talked about it for days. There was even a pull-out couch if we needed extra room. Our patio overlooked the resort pool area and had a wide view of the beach, which was perfect at sunset. I convinced the boys to be on the beach with me every night at sunset while we were there. I'm big into sunsets, and the sky was like cotton candy every night. We'd let the boys play in the sand while we watched it go down. Watching the sunset by the water is so healing for the soul.
While I would just live at the beach all day, the littles were thoroughly impressed with the three pools (one indoor and two outdoor, in addition to two hot tubs). Plus, there was a toddler pool where we hung out for quite a while because it was completely shaded. That was absolutely perfect for Jettson's age. They also had an expansive deck around the pool with lounge chairs everywhere. We ended up eating dinner out there two of the nights because it was a perfect view of the ocean and a relaxing setting for the boys to run around. I thought the resort did a great job at being family-friendly while having a lot suited for couples too.
There are 6 seasonal onsite dining options, so you would never have to leave to eat. We loved grabbing coffee at The Coffee Shop (which serves Starbucks) and eating breakfast at Sandcastles Restaurant (which had an amazing buffet). They have a beachside service called The Sandbar, so you can literally order your lunch and drinks off your phone and they'll bring it to your chairs on the beach. They also have a sushi bar (Hadashi) and Seagars Primes Steaks & Seafood, the AAA Four-Diamond steakhouse which would be perfect for a date night or special occasion.
If you need to take a break from the sun, they have a shuttle that takes you to The Village of Baytowne Wharf with more restaurants, shops, a playground, and activities like zip lining, a carousel, and an arcade, the Silver Sands Outlet Mall and the Market Shops. They've got bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, beach volleyball, miniature golf, four golf courses, and tennis courts. So really the whole family has something suited just for them. And as an added bonus, once you get there, you don't have any need for your car.
In addition to the beautiful gift of being at the beach for Mother's Day, I got to relax at Serenity by the Sea spa which is on-site at the resort with a 50-minute full-body massage. I was super impressed with how big the spa was, but I was more impressed with the customer service.
The ladies in there were so kind and helpful. You have access to the amenities all day the day of your appointment so I got alone time to myself in the sauna and hot tub with some hot tea and snacks after my massage while the boys napped in the room.
Right next to the spa is the 24/7 fitness center which also offers classes like sunrise yoga! I didn't get to do it but I thought it would be so fun! With two kids under the age of four, it can be hard to find a place suited for everyone but the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf & Resort Spa was perfect for the whole family and couples. I can't say enough good things about it. A huge thank you to them for hosting us.
