- Sweep after each meal. Because of the traffic, our kitchen gets + two little ones eating there are a lot of crumbs that fall on the floor. Just simply sweeping that area every time we use it keeps the floors maintained between mopping and steaming.
- Wash all the dishes immediately or load them in the dishwasher. I will say this is a pattern Ian started when we got married. We never had dirty dishes in the sink. We either immediately put them in the dishwasher or clean them all up following our meal. This keeps that area smelling nice and less clutter on the counters throughout the day. Plus, having a clean sink automatically makes the kitchen look neater. We have been using Mrs. Meyer's Lavender dish soap, so every time we do the dishes it smells like we're walking through a lavender field.
- Wipe down the countertops frequently. I love the look and smell of freshly cleaned countertops so after we do the dishes and before I sweep, I will quickly spray and wipe down the counters. I love the Mrs. Meyer's Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner. It's safe for most surfaces and formulated with plant-derived ingredients and essential oils. My boys love helping me with this one, and I always feel safe with them helping because they are made without artificial colors, phthalates, chlorine bleach, parabens, and phosphates. It actually makes cleaning fun for everyone and we love the garden-fresh scents.
Our family values taking care of the earth and we truly believe that small changes and habits in our home can help impact the world around us. We actively try to teach our kids that it's important to take care of our home and earth and how that translates to our neighbors and community so we are excited to partner with Mrs. Meyer's for Earth Month because we know it's something they value as well.
We pick ours up at our local Kroger.
Happy cleaning!
