For a quick weekend getaway, Ian and I and our friends Jimmy and Jen decided to go to Nashville, Tennessee. Even though all four of us had lived in the south our entire lives, we had never been before. In my opinion, Tennessee is one of the most beautiful states and Nashville is a city you cannot miss! Here are a few pictures from our trip as well as some recommendations if you decide to take a trip yourself. For lunch the first day we stopped at The Pharmacy which has some incredible burgers and handcrafted sodas.Of course we had to be touristy so we stopped by the Pantheon in Centennial Park to relive some memories from Italy. And as you may know from our previous trips, we always do jumping pictures somewhere in the city...For an afternoon pick-me-up we went to the Frothy Monkey on 12th ave for some incredible coffee and lattes. The Frothy Monkey is known to have several country celebrities stop in, but unfortunately none were there when we went.12th ave. was fun to explore. The "I believe in Nashville" sign is there, some cute antique stores, a famous music store, and a Christmas tree farm. For dinner that night, we dressed up and headed over to Whiskey Kitchen which has some incredible southern fusion food and about the best atmosphere for a Friday night. The next morning we drove up to Love Circle for a view of Nashville. You can also drive by Mount Richmore, John Rich's mansion from Big n Rich. For brunch that morning, we stopped into The Southern for some incredible chicken and waffles with a live bluegrass band. Incredible food for any meal of the day. Then we decided to explore downtown, Broadway St., and look through some record and boot stores. After wandering around the majority of the day and visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame we headed over to the BlueBird Cafe were we made reservations one week in advance to see some local artists play. It was totally worth all the hassle and waiting. The BlueBird has had some incredible artist including famous ones play at their venue. It is also featured on the show Nashville on ABC.After the show we headed over to the Honky Tonks to hear some more awesome music! You cannot go wrong. Every venue you walk into has incredible music playing. The next morning we stopped by Loveless Cafe for amazing biscuits and breakfast and then wandered around downtown Franklin, Tennessee for a little bit before heading home.We will definitely have to make a trip back soon.If you are looking for a great resource for the best places to eat and visit when you're in town, be sure to check out this great list.
