Sourdough: The Foolproof Guide to Making World-Class Bread at Home - I love James' simple approach to sourdough. Great recipes, thorough & clear instructions, and great options for the baker who only bakes on the side and has to work all day.
Dough Knife / Bench Scrapper - A must-have for scrapping you bench, dividing your dough up, and your second hand when you work with really wet dough that keeps sticking to your hands.
Jar Spatula - This was my "boujee" purchase when I began feeding my sourdough starter. It cleanly scrapes the inside of any jar, especially helpful with a wet starter sticking to the sides. For me it made the process less frustrating and more delightful because it cleans the jar so well.
Danish Dough Whisk - This was a recent addition to my baking tools and it's awesome for mixing your dry and wet ingredients without sticking to your hand. My mom gifted it to me and it's made the mixing process simple and clean. I love working the dough with my hands, but it's nice starting the process out with an easy tool.
Flourside Proofing Baskets - These guys are another recent addition and after just one use, I'll likely never go back to the rattan cane ones. These are made from wood pulp that originated in Germany. No extra clothes or towels to help the dough release and proofing your bread comes out super consistent with a nice texture.
Biscuit / Cookie Cutter Set - I like a perfectly round biscuit.
Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker - I haven't purchased this proofing container yet but it's at the top of my list. Temperature and humidity are huge factors when proofing your sourdough starter, dough, etc. and this guy keeps everything at a perfect temp so you can plan your proofing schedule well.
8 Qt Commercial KitchenAid Mixer - When we bake bread or any type of baked good, we like to make a little extra to get our family and friends thoughts on. I hit the limit of our regular-sized KitchenAid mixer pretty fast when we began making more than two country loaves at a time.
Ooni Koda Pizza Oven - Getting that high top heat for your pizza is something no regular kitchen oven/broil can get you. The Ooni is on the top of our Spring baking list for family pizza nights on the simple.
Weck Mold Jars - Along with the jar scrapper, these Weck jars were the best purchase I made the maintain my sourdough starter and store some of our flour. I use the large jars 54oz for my levain on the day of mixing our country loaves because I need more room for the starter and to store our specialty flour. I use the 28.7oz jars to store my mother starter "Samwise" and any other list creations Victoria makes, like her pumpkin spice mix.
Bread Knife - If you're making bread on the regular, you need a sharp serrated so you not squishing your loaves into pancakes as you saw at it.
Dredges - These are cheap purchases that make dusting your bread, work surface, baskets, etc. super easy and consistent.
